How effective is the combination of your main and ancillary texts?

For the photography of the ancillary texts, we used a photo studio, this made it easier for us to control the lighting and effects, this suited the genre of the music video perfectly which then created a strong sense of mise-en-scene for the r'n'b genre. This matched the internal shots we used for the video, therefore the consistency of location in the two different texts link the combined texts together.
For the poster I have used the front cover of the CD cover this shows continuity in terms of conventions I have found from existing texts.
In my ancillary products, I chose the color scheme to compliment the band logo and the music video.
My ancillary texts that I created work well in unison to create a strong brand image for; Daniel Merriweather. The consistent use of house style as well as emulating ideas from existing media makes this a good promotional package.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My Video
Official Daniel Merriweather Video
Editing
Through out or video we use a lot fade to change the scenes, we used fading because this type of editing allows us to show the passing of time and as the story was about the breakup of two characters (over a period) this editing style shows that. We also used dissolve to link two shots together and to show the video as a dream sequence.
