How effective is the combination of your main and ancillary texts?

For my ancillary and main production I wanted to maintain a constistancy within products in order to keep a consistent brand identity for the band. I also wanted to maintain consistency with my other group members , this is why we all created and agreed on a style sheet. I created a magazine advertisement advertising the release of the bands new ablum, and a CD case. The main things that I had to consider whilst in the production of my ancillary texts was the use of the house style.

For the photography of the ancillary texts, we used a photo studio, this made it easier for us to control the lighting and effects, this suited the genre of the music video perfectly which then created a strong sense of mise-en-scene for the r'n'b genre. This matched the internal shots we used for the video, therefore the consistency of location in the two different texts link the combined texts together.

For the poster I have used the front cover of the CD cover this shows continuity in terms of conventions I have found from existing texts.
In my ancillary products, I chose the color scheme to compliment the band logo and the music video.

My ancillary texts that I created work well in unison to create a strong brand image for; Daniel Merriweather. The consistent use of house style as well as emulating ideas from existing media makes this a good promotional package.
